Adrian was our guide in October 2017 to some of the Painted Monasteries near Suçeava, Romania, where we stayed for several days to learn about the culture, religion, and history of Bucovina region.The area is well worth several days’ visit, not only for the monasteries but also for seeing tradition farming and the houses of the villages, trying the cuisine and wines, and discovering the history of this lovely countryside.

Adrian is knowledgeable about the paintings and the preciousness of the icons, the services, and the buildings.  The interiors and exteriors are covered with complicated stories interpreted in the Romanian Orthodox tradition from the Christian Bible, and Adrian helped interpret them.  The architecture and the garden settings of the monasteries are remarkable.  Adrian lives in the region, and has a deep appreciation for the wealth of monasteries, churches, and living history of Moldavia and Bucovina.  His English is excellent and he clearly enjoys guiding.  We recommend his guiding services.
